Another Step Taken

I have announced in front of the school my plans for the run and I have also revealed the location. I sent sponsor sheets home with them that they will keep over the holidays and raise money. I will hopefully get them back on the 23rd of April which is the first day back from holidays. I am so happy I am getting the opportunity to do this! Thank you again to all the people that have helped!

Location Decided

I met with Mrs.Bauer. my CAS coordinator, and Claudia Doron on Monday. I received the arm bands I needed from Claudia in order to hand out to everyone in my school. I really appreciated that. The focus of our discussion was mainly deciding on a place for the run. We looked at different places around Buchs and we have decided that we are going to make the run just outside school grounds on a path near the little bridge. We will hopefully have water and fruit stands available for the runners. We will also have a chip system that will let us keep track of how many rounds each student or teacher runs. Hopefully afterwards there were be some sort of bake sale that can help us raise additional money for River of Hope. Tomorrow I will present at the school assembly. I will be handing out the sponsor sheets and hopefully the wrist bands. I get to initiate the starting of the run tomorrow. I am excited!

Steps To Take Before The Run

I am on my way to completing the final steps towards my run. On Monday I am going to hopefully print out all the number of sheets I need in order to be able to distribute them to my school. I think I will be presenting these sheets on Thursday during the whole school assembly. Also I have to create some kind of system that will allow me and the teachers to be able to keep track of the number of laps each student runs. I will also have to find a perfect location for the run; preferably exactly or close to 1 km. I will also have organize refreshments afterwards for the students who have ran. I am staying organized and managing my time wisely in order to get these steps done. Without the help from some of my teachers and especially Claudia Doron I would not be able to make this run possible. Also without all the help and support from my fellow classmates I would not be able to keep going on the pace that I am going. THANK YOU ALL!

SAL/TAK Display

Today was a good day for the project. A lot of people were generous and kind enough to leave donations for the run. I really appreciate it. All in all I raised a total amount of 240 CHF plus another sponsor who was kind enough to sponsor me 10 CHF per kilometre. I would like to thank Natalie and Ellen for making this possible and helping me organize my stand and for giving me this opportunity. I would also like to thank Mrs.Sutcliffe for helping me prepare all the materials I needed for today. I would like to thank Mrs.Linford, Mr.Beck. Mrs.Warren, Mrs.Sutcliffe, Eliot and Vicky for being there to offer support, I really appreciate it. Thank you for a great day!

TAK Presentation and Progress

Tomorrow ,Wednesday March the 6th, I will be presenting my marathon idea to the local community in Liechtenstein at the TAK. I am looking forward to interacting with a new community and boosting my German skills. I am hoping to learn to build my communication skills. As for my progress: BZB has decided not to run because the school board would not allow the sports teacher to skip parts in the curriculum. It is not the best news but I am going to work with ISR in order to make this a great run and we are still going to run for a great cause. the project may not be as big as I had hoped but just because one school is not participating does not mean I have to hang my head. I am going to keep going on track and organize this run with great detail and raise money for a good cause.
