About Me
My name is Adam Laubenbacher. I was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I am 16 years old. I currently go to school at International School Rheintal (ISR), a small international school in east Switzerland. I haven't completely understood how lucky I am to be in the position I am. I haven't fully understood that the food I eat, the sports I play and the education I receive is a blessing. This project idea came to me at a school retreat. The idea came about when the teachers told me I have to achieve CAS (Community Action and Service) hours. This program is designed for a student to go out and do something that makes an impact in the global or local community. I thought: "Why do something small when I can do something big?" I immediately knew what I wanted to do. So I initiated my plan in hopes of raising money for a charity in order to make a difference. To me that is very important.

Dear Adam,
AntwortenLöschenIt was nice reading your Blog and all about your effort to make this run a success. Our kids came home this week with the sponsor sheet. They love to attend and raise money. I'd like to sponsor them per round as I think it's a good motivation to run even more. Can you let me know what's the distance of a round so I can make a reasonable guess of how much they are going to run (and donate accordingly). If you need any help for the baking or handing out refreshments, just let me know. I available to help on Friday the 27th. Good luck with all the preparation! Hilde van Gurp (Jelle, Roos and Eva's mum)
Thank you for your contribution to the run. I am very appreciative of your children's involvement in the run. The distance per round has been estimated at about 750 meters more or less. We will be running for one full hour on that day. Mrs.Bauer and I have been speaking about the bake sale and although the idea is there we have not finalized it with Mrs.Sutcliffe. We have been looking for parents to help out. I will be sure to tell Mrs.Bauer that you have so kindly volunteered to help out. I will get back to you as soon as I am certain.
AntwortenLöschenThank you so much again for your interest!
