Steps To Take Before The Run

I am on my way to completing the final steps towards my run. On Monday I am going to hopefully print out all the number of sheets I need in order to be able to distribute them to my school. I think I will be presenting these sheets on Thursday during the whole school assembly. Also I have to create some kind of system that will allow me and the teachers to be able to keep track of the number of laps each student runs. I will also have to find a perfect location for the run; preferably exactly or close to 1 km. I will also have organize refreshments afterwards for the students who have ran. I am staying organized and managing my time wisely in order to get these steps done. Without the help from some of my teachers and especially Claudia Doron I would not be able to make this run possible. Also without all the help and support from my fellow classmates I would not be able to keep going on the pace that I am going. THANK YOU ALL!

SAL/TAK Display

Today was a good day for the project. A lot of people were generous and kind enough to leave donations for the run. I really appreciate it. All in all I raised a total amount of 240 CHF plus another sponsor who was kind enough to sponsor me 10 CHF per kilometre. I would like to thank Natalie and Ellen for making this possible and helping me organize my stand and for giving me this opportunity. I would also like to thank Mrs.Sutcliffe for helping me prepare all the materials I needed for today. I would like to thank Mrs.Linford, Mr.Beck. Mrs.Warren, Mrs.Sutcliffe, Eliot and Vicky for being there to offer support, I really appreciate it. Thank you for a great day!

TAK Presentation and Progress

Tomorrow ,Wednesday March the 6th, I will be presenting my marathon idea to the local community in Liechtenstein at the TAK. I am looking forward to interacting with a new community and boosting my German skills. I am hoping to learn to build my communication skills. As for my progress: BZB has decided not to run because the school board would not allow the sports teacher to skip parts in the curriculum. It is not the best news but I am going to work with ISR in order to make this a great run and we are still going to run for a great cause. the project may not be as big as I had hoped but just because one school is not participating does not mean I have to hang my head. I am going to keep going on track and organize this run with great detail and raise money for a good cause.

Rough Draft: Poster and Sponsor Sheets

Today I finished rough drafts for both my posters I will be hanging around the area and the sponsor sheets that I will use to hand out to the other school so we can collect and raise money for the charity. I still have a lot of steps ahead of me. I will meet with my CAS coordinator on Monday in order to get feed and make any changes needed to my poster and sponsor sheets.

Rotary Club Speech

Today was a really good day. I achieved another step towards reaching my goal. First I presented my speech in front of the Rotary Club in Buchs. I helped set up before hand and helped out during the lunch. I presented my idea to the club and I think they appreciated my speech. It was good to get up there and boost awareness for the project. After the speech I was approached by one of the members of the club. I got offered to present my project idea to a theatre in Schaan, Liechtenstein. There will be a play going on there at the same time. The woman from the club would like if I presented before the play. I am going to take full advantage of this offer in order to boost awareness for the project even more. I also met with my CAS coordinator Mrs.Bauer in order to get more ideas on how to approach the initiation of my project and get the other school, BZB, involved. I would also like to thank my German helper on the project, Andreas, for helping me present and agreeing to work with me further in the future.

First Meeting

I met with Claudia Doron of the Rive of Hope today. We sat down and we spent time going over information that I am going to be using for my speech to the Rotary Club of Buchs on the 1st of February. I will be informing the Rotary Club about where their donated money is going and what projects they are helping. I also got other information that will help me communicate with other German speaking schools. I also learned about other steps I should be taking towards the project. Today I am starting the design for the sponsor sheets. Also, going back to my speech, I will be presenting at ISR in the student lounge in the afternoon of February the first. Hopefully it will be a successful experience.

Welcome To My Blog

I have recently created this blog in order to boost awareness of the run I am initiating. I will keep all my information posted here and I will update any events or important information. I will also keep track of the steps I take in order to reach my goal. This will be like my journal throughout the whole process of the run.
